MADRID WEATHER

Thursday

Settle in, stroll around, have a drink and relax.

The idea is to start settling down in the airbnb and slowly start moving around in the city, getting a feeling for the vibes of this place.

We could take the cable car to get a birds-eye view of the city or rather rent a rowboat and see the Monument to Alfonso XII from the water. No matter what we choose to do, we shouldn’t miss the first Madrid sun set from one of the rooftop bars.

Friday

As true Madrileños we will be kicking off the weekend with the typical ‘Tostada con tomate’ breakfast accompanied by a great coffee at ACID Café. It shouldn’t be any surprise to you, knowing me, that we might be stopping at a couple more great coffee and food places to enjoy some of the local specialties: casqueria, sweetbreads, tortilla, bocadillos calamares, molluscs or bull tail stew. In the evening we will find a cosy restaurant for some more civilized food and let’s see: we might be able to find the entry to some of the hidden bars.

Saturday

Saturday is typically the day to run some errands, Madrid is no exception. There a couple of shops that are worth having a look at and maybe you will find one thing or the other to bring back. Typically, every hard shopping day ends with an aperitif in the sun, showing off the shopping achievements.

Sunday

Sunday is departure day for most people, but Sunday is also the typical flea market at El Rastro. Sticking to what has worked so well throughout the weekend, we should be following the flow of Madrileño towards La Latina for a tapas crawl through the various bars – Bar Canturce, Casa Amadeo.
