The Principal Madrid

The Hotel:
This boutique hotel hides behind a magnificent façade that exudes cosmopolitan style. The look and feel of a sophisticated townhouse meets urban retreat. Inside, the early 20th century building has been transformed into a cool oasis with a palette of dark hues. The entrance to the hotel is discreetly located in a small side street and located on the sixth floor of the building. Here you will also find the hotel bar and restaurant. The hotel’s own roof terrace with marble tables invites you to linger with a beautiful view over Madrid. Here you can enjoy a cocktail and watch the sun set over the rooftops of Madrid.

The Location:
The hotel is centrally located at the beginning of the Gran Vía, the main street that runs through the centre of Madrid. The location allows you to visit much of the city on foot. It is also only a five-minute walk to the Banco and Gran Vía metro stations where a bus to the airport leaves regularly.

The Rooms:
The 76 rooms and suites all have more or less the same elegant charcoal grey décor with black carpets. The biggest difference is mainly the view and the size. With innerspring mattresses and soundproof windows, a peaceful night’s sleep is assured.

The Restaurant and Bars:
Breakfast is served on the sixth floor on the beautiful terrace with a fantastic view over the city. The breakfast buffet has selected products of the highest quality, including Ibérico ham, smoked salmon, pancakes, pastries, fruit and yoghurt, and freshly prepared eggs.

The hotel restaurant Ático is run by Ramon Freixa, who has two Michelin stars at his restaurant in the Único, the Principal’s sister hotel in Madrid.
