Sponsored by the Catalonian bank, La Caixa is a museum and cultural center exhibits modern, contemporary and ancient art. From the 1900s this building had various purposes – ancient power station, warehouse for the Barcelona World Fair and textile factory. The Swiss architect Herzog & de Meuron finally turned the building into a museum and gave it its impressive exterior design and the urban garden wall.
